Service Description

Embroidery Club is a great club for beginner and experienced embroidery enthusiasts. May's class will feature trapunto, feature that Trapunto, from the Italian for "to quilt", is a method of quilting that produces a 'stuffed' design. This puffy, decorative feature utilizes a design specifically for trapunto right on our embroidery machines! You'll be able to create a notebook/binder cover with your block. Or use it for a project of your own. This block is a perfect project for beginners while more advanced machine embroiderers can use this as a stepping stone to more involved projects. Students should bring a notebook or binder of their choice. SUPPLIES: Sewing machine with embroidery unit, power cord Scissors Thread snips Applique scissors to get into small areas for trimming No 75/11 SHARP needle (70/10 is OK but don't use automatic threader with these) 40 WT embroidery threads - if you want stitching to show, it should NOT match the block fabric Bobbin with 60 WT bobbin thread Appropriate hoop(s) - if you aren't sure which, bring a few. DESIGN: Designs shown are from design pack 10010, there are available through Steve's Sewing or link to OESD via Steve's website. You DO NOT need to purchase the entire set, you should at least have PKK10010-03 for class; this is enough to create a nice project. There will be some sewing to construct the project, so be sure to have your regular sewing foot with you. Hoop requirement for all the designs in 10010 design pack:        PK10010-03-easily fits a 5/7 hoop (Oval if you're using a Bernina)             We can incorporate several of these into the project       PK10010-04 is longer and needs an 11x5 hoop or Bernina Midi Hoop       PK10010-02 and PK10010-01 require much more hoop space:             01 needs the Bernina Jumbo hoop or 11x11 hoop             02 would require the Bernina Maxi or Med Clamp hoop - or a hoop that is at lease 8x8 Embroidery Supplies     EXTRAS for this PROJECT   Regular sewing foot - to construct project after making embroidery block ½ yard of fabric for notebook cover. For stitching to show well, fabric for blocks should NOT be bold prints. Lining of project- Fat quarter or 1/3 yard-can be the same as outside but you may want a complementary fabric. We will have a $5 kit fee to help cover stabilizer and batting. See you then!
