Service Description

The Perfect Pouch In this class, we will refine and perfect our pouch-making skills to achieve a professional looking pouch. On the first day of class, we will make a basic pouch (bag measurements will be provided on the first day of class) concentrating on clean zipper tabs and zipper application, fitted lining and sharp corners. On the second day, we will take it up a notch by creating custom fabric using scraps and other embellishments. This class is appropriate for sewists of all levels. Supply List: • ½ yard quilting cotton for exterior • ½ yard quilting cotton for lining • 24 inches of #5 zipper tape and two #5 zipper pulls (this is will make two pouches) • Misty Fuse • Complementary colored fabric scraps to build your own unique fabric on Day Two • Embellishments such as yarn, buttons, mesh (we will review options on Day One so you can bring needed materials for Day Two) • Appropriate needle for your fabric – a Microtex 90/14 is a good choice for most fabric/interfacing combinations • Quilting Ruler • Standard sewing supplies – sharp scissors and rotary cutter, pins and wonder clips, wash-away wonder tape, tape measure, etc. • Sewing machine in good working order (don’t forget to oil and clean your machine before starting a new project!)
