From the age of ten, Steve Chubin had a dream to start a business that was customer driven and had an overwhelming commitment to total customer satisfaction. Sixty thousand hems later that's exactly what Steve did.
Steve gained his knowledge of the sewing industry as a manager in a sewing factory in Reading, PA. From there Steve was in a partnership in a sewing store in Lansdale, PA.
In 1992, Steve opened Steve's Sewing and Vacuum Center with the belief that quality service, low prices and customer satisfaction were the keys to success. It was this successful combination complemented by quality products that drove Steve's to becoming a Miele Diamond Dealer in 2003.
In 2010, Steve's moved from the small store in the Valley Forge Shopping Center to his much larger, state-of-the art store in the DeKalb Plaza shopping center in the old Tweeter building. During his first year at the new store, Steve received the King of Prussia Business Improvement District’s “Small Retailer of the Year” award for 2011. Steve was extremely honored, especially since he was the first recipient of the award. Steve’s also became the East coast location of the Palmer Pletsch Sewing School in April 2012, making Steve’s one of only two locations nationwide and gaining Steve’s international recognition in the sewing world. Steve’s continues to grow, but thrives on the original dream of its owner, to be 100% committed to customer satisfaction.
